Le Role des Transferts de Fonds pour la Production de Sorgh

Abstract

La forte augmentation des transferts de fonds des migrants a suscite de l'optimisme quant aux avantages potentiels de ces flux de capitaux en matia¨re de developpement dans les communautes rurales oa¹ les defaillances du marche des capitaux sont repandues. Cet article examine l'effet causal des transferts de fonds sur la production de sorgho en utilisant l'ensemble de donnees de l'etude de mesure des niveaux de vie (LSMS) de 2014 sur le Burkina Faso. Nous utilisons une approche bayesienne de variables instrumentales pour explorer plusieurs voies specifiques. Les resultats montrent que la taille des terres, le nombre de travailleurs et la quantite d'herbicides utilisees sont les facteurs qui ameliorent significativement la production de sorgho au Burkina Faso. Nous constatons egalement qu'une augmentation de 1 % du montant des transferts de fonds entraa®ne une diminution de 0,938 % de la production de sorgho. Nous suggerons que les politiques publiques visant a ameliorer la productivite agricole seront plus efficaces si un programme d'utilisation des transferts de fonds est mis en place, ainsi que la transparence des decisions concernant l'allocation des terres
