Programas de Estabilización Anticipados

Abstract

Analizamos cómo la anticipación de programas de estabilización económica, ya sea mediante Money Based Stabilization (MBS) o Exchange Rate Based Stabilization (ERBS), puede influir en la economía. Nuestros resultados arrojan luz sobre cómo los anuncios que se hacen con suficiente anticipación y de manera creíble pueden cambiar la forma en que los períodos de crecimiento y declive económico ocurren en comparación con lo que se ha estudiado previamente. De manera específica, notamos que después de anunciarse, el programa MBS da lugar a un período de expansión económica, mientras que el programa ERBS genera una recesión. Estos hallazgos resaltan la importancia de la previsión y la confiabilidad en la efectividad de las políticas económicas.
