Abstract

The National Evaluation System (SNV) - Sistema Nazionale di Valutazione) makes available to schools the Self-Evaluation Report (RAV - Rapporto di Autovalutazione) and the improvement plan (PdM - Piano di Miglioramento), which are the tools that allows the schools to evaluate themselves in order to improve their services. The PdM aims at managing the Improvement Process, which starts from the contents of the RAV, and which is a real process including different phases: planning, development of actions, verification and documentation. As it always happens for the development and management of the processes, a problem is the choice of the methodology. Two methods have been proposed for the preparation and implementation of the PdM, a structured one and an unstructured one, based on agile models. In this paper, after a brief presentation of the two methods, we propose a comparison between them to facilitate the choice of educational institutions that face the onerous but challenging school improvement task.
