    Vor dem Hintergrund einer Neuausrichtung des Netzes Zentraler Orte in Thüringen geht der vorliegende Beitrag auf die daraus resultierenden Konsequenzen für den öffentlichen Personennahverkehr (ÖPNV) als Garant der Erreichbarkeit von Grundfunktionen und somit gleichwertiger Lebensverhältnisse ein. Ausgehend von den allgemeinen Planvorgaben der Landes- und Regionalplanung werden kleinräumig am Beispiel des Landkreises Weimarer Land einerseits die Auswirkung einer reduzierten Anzahl von Zentralen Orten auf die Erreichbarkeit dieser Orte dargestellt sowie andererseits die bestehenden Grenzen eines konventionellen linienbezogenen ÖPNV-Angebotes im ländlichen Raum aufgezeigt. Darauf aufbauend werden für den Landkreis Weimarer Land exemplarisch die Grundzüge eines Kriteriensystems diskutiert, welches das für die Erreichbarkeit der Zentralen Orte i. d. R. verwendete Raum-Zeit-Kriterium um Aspekte einer raumspezifischen Verfügbarkeit ergänzt. @Against the backdrop of the refashioned network of central places in Thuringia, this paper explores the consequences which ensue for public transport as the guarantor to ensure that basic service functions remain accessible, thus safeguarding parity of living conditions. Based on the general content of plans for both state-level and regional planning, the paper spotlights Weimarer Land county to illustrate both the consequences of reducing the number of central places in terms of the accessibility of these localities, and the limitations of conventional, route-based public-transport services in rural areas. On this basis, and again exemplified by the Weimarer Land county, the authors go on to discuss the key features of a criteria-based system designed to supplement the space-time criterion typically employed in determining the accessibility of central places by the addition of aspects relating to area-specific availability.
