Abstract

This chapter is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of the Interbank Money Market and the instruments traded therein. The rationale for money markets, their functions, key components, and trading mechanisms are explained. Upon completing the chapter, you should have a good understanding of the need for the money market, its role and links with the rest of the financial system, and the types of instruments traded.
