Abstract

When I wrote my book The New Gold Standard: 5 Leadership Principles for Creating a Legendary Customer Experience Courtesy of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, I traced the history of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel chain back to 1870. Much of that brand’s commitment to elevated service excellence is reflected in the thinking and words of the company’s founder, Cesar Ritz, who noted that extraordinary means “to see all without looking; to hear all without listening; to be attentive without being servile; to anticipate without being presumptuous…”
