Abstract

Examining the technological progress of the energy sector within the framework of creating an innovative economy is becoming increasingly important. This research investigates the characteristics and underlying conditions necessary for the technological advancement of Russia’s energy industry, drawing on the analysis of domestic and international experiences in technology transfer. The author explores various strategies aimed at advancing the national interests of different countries and assesses the distinctive traits and growth patterns of innovative development across various regions, including Europe, Asia, Africa, America, and the Caribbean. Additionally, the research looks into their respective technology transfer initiatives in the energy sector. Through this research, the author identifies the patterns in the advancement of technology within the national energy sector, which is the goal of this research. As the main research method, the author applies a systemic approach and comparative and statistical analysis of indicators of innovative and technological development of countries. In conclusion, the author shows the need for multi-level interaction of all participants in the innovation process at the regional, national, and international levels. Additionally, there is a call to evaluate the regional aspect while considering the country’s economic development stage, the socio-economic and scientific-technological policies in place, and the clearly outlined strategic objectives and pathways for progress.
