Abstract

In the context of geopolitical changes, the agricultural economy significantly affects the country’s agriculture and food security. Geopolitical shifts in the agro-industrial complex (AIC) can influence access to resources, markets, technologies, and trade and investment policies. This research aims to develop theoretical and methodological foundations for advancing Russia’s agricultural economy amid transformations and geopolitical changes. The research utilizes data from Russian official statistics, conducts analysis, and presents forecasts for the development of crisis phenomena in conditions of geopolitical instability. In this regard, the authors proposed a new approach to managing the country’s agricultural economy in the face of global challenges and strategic threats to food and economic security. Its implementation requires a shift toward the accumulation, preservation, and processing of agricultural products within the AIC, utilizing the experience of Russia and other countries. Based on the analysis of many factors tied to geopolitical and economic changes, it is essential to forecast crisis phenomena in the agricultural sector and outline preventive measures to mitigate risks and threats. The factors highlighted in the research underscore the need for methodological justification to identify and implement points of sustainable growth. These challenges and contradictions are addressed in this research.
