Abstract

The Kyoto Protocol is far from perfect. It nonetheless achieved something that is important for us all, which most people had thought was impossible: an agreement to cap global greenhouse gas emissions from the industrial nations, the largest emittors at the time. It is the first time in our history that we have agreed to limit our carbon emissions and change our energy use, which is a way to avert climate change…
