Abstract

Frontiers are eventually settled upon and explorations standardized over time. As more astronauts went into space, agencies created training programs, astronauts themselves built the International Space Station, and tours were set for astronauts to take shifts on these stations. European traders set up outposts on coasts and islands along routes outlined by earlier seafarers. Mount Everest hikers and locals set up base camps and planned routes to reach the summit. The goal of this standardization is to ensure these trips can be taken repeatedly over time with relative safety and set expectations.
