Abstract

As one of the largest garment manufacturers in the world, TAL often spout the statistic that one in six dress shirts in the US is made by them. That’s about 55 million shirts a year translated to more than US$800 million in revenue. They churn out shirts for the big names such as Burberry, Michael Kors, Brooks Brothers, and JC Penny. Management often tout themselves as “innofacturers,”, calling on their strong R&D roots that have produced wrinkle-free shirts and sweat-stain-proof garments. The company has 25,000 workers on their payroll, a majority of them in China.
