Abstract

In the competitive smart-phone market in China, price is one of the most critical factors affecting customers’ purchase decisions. The objectives of this study are:To depict price erosion patterns and sales volume trends across major smart-phone market players,To predict the smart-phone prices on multiple levels and dimensions, andTo identify pricing strategies of Lenovo and its key competitors in ChinaThe final output of this study is a fully automatic visualization dashboard that will be able to accommodate a big dataset of at least three years, from December 2013 to 2016. Besides, it will make the whole analysis more efficient and accurate in capturing the pattern of price erosion and sales volume and make it more user-friendly.
