Abstract

How do you feel what you never touch?One NBA coach I interviewed told me he checks in with how he feels every half hour. Athletes often have routines to reset how they're feeling in the middle of competition. Surgeons play songs in the operating room that help them feel the way they need to feel when it will matter most. In each case, the world-class performers are choosing how they want to feel and for the most part they get in that neighborhood more times than not…
