Abstract

The management of information technology projects is a challenging process, which requires keeping track of a considerable amount of data. Therefore, project management software is indispensable for project managers, especially for managing the schedule and cost of projects. This chapter explores a selection of prevalently used software applications for schedule management in IT projects. An overview and key features of Asana, Jira, Microsoft Project, Monday.com, and Trello are described. A summary of the features of five other software, Basecamp, GanttPRO, LiquidPlanner, Teamwork, and Zoho Sprints, is also presented. A comparison of these project schedule management software is introduced. The chapter also discusses and compares software applications for cost management, namely, Harvest, Microsoft Project, Paymo, and Zoho Projects.
