Abstract

The previous chapter discussed, with the help of illustrative examples, the key elements of a large Information Technology (IT) program of work. These elements critically influence its success or failure. This chapter examines these experiences comparing the key factors with comparable programs of work in an older and more mature industry, construction, where the management discipline is expected to be equally advanced in terms of maturity.
