Abstract

Technological innovations are transforming the way financial services are provided. This phenomenon is commonly known as “Fintech”. Some researchers have termed this wave of transformation as the “Fourth Industrial Revolution”. Regardless of the terminology, fintech does have a profound impact on our society. This introductory chapter first introduces various advantages of fintech, such as LASIC and financial inclusion. Following this, specific case studies on the application of fintech by companies will be discussed to offer a more comprehensive view of fintech applications.
