Abstract

Knowledge is one of the key elements that, through its effective sharing and use, enables organizations to become more innovative, competitive, and sustainable. It is imperative to adopt formal knowledge management (KM) initiatives within the organization, based on a logical and conceptual framework, for an efficient corporate learning approach. Considering this need, it becomes necessary to define a reference system for a practical and appropriate corporate KM model. The “S2P Learning Model” was originally designed to translate a conceptual framework for understanding and describing any formal learning initiative. It consists of the definition of three essential and complementary layers, namely: learning strategy, learning platform, and learning processes. These three layers interact within a relationship framework of “Definition–Support–Adjustment.” This model can be improved for the corporate context as a framework to support the effectiveness of organizational learning, according to a formal KM approach. In this chapter, we try to focus on the mode of adjustment of the “S2P Learning Model” within the organizational context to convert it into an “S2P Knowledge Management Model.” Then, the model will be constructed upon the three following complementary layers of corporate KM strategy, corporate KM platform, and corporate KM processes.
