Abstract

Working with students presents a great challenge for all teachers, so we must enable them to learn the learning contexts that encourage active learning, shaping lessons and creativity. After talking with pupils who expressed their desire for additional creativity at the subject History, I decided to carry out the project study work titled Exploring History with the Help of Models (people's life through different historical periods). Their task was to create their own product (model), which would be thematically related to the project. They were limited in time, and the conceptual design was left to the individual. According to their narrative, the work involved other family members (purchase of materials, help in design, ...). In doing so, pupils were unwittingly acquainted with the experiences of the previous generations and helped to develop a sense of belonging to a group while making the product. After completing the work, they presented the products to classmates and prepared an exhibition in the lobby of the school. The presentation was an important material for the production, the purpose of using the product once and perhaps even today, and especially the presentation of independent work in the classroom and also outside of it. Some pupils presented their product to classroom students and produced a short quiz or puzzles. After presentations, the products were critically evaluated (what could be added, modified and improved). Pupils gained new knowledge and skills on their own work. Through research, they deepened and expanded their knowledge of the ways of life of people throughout history.
