Abstract

When planning a lesson, teachers are constantly asking ourselves how to increase interest in the new learning substance. Well-planned introductory motivation is one of the key factors that influence the quality of teaching lessons. The article presents an example of good practice, introductory motivation in the consideration of Kosovel's constructivist poem Kons 4 and in the discussion of Kosmaè's novel Caterpillar. When planning, we proceed from the assumption that we are never too old to use cubes. Pupils of the 9th grade do not expect the teacher of Slovene to bring the cubes and to create them with them during the lesson. First, the pupils were divided into groups. Secondly, at a certain point in time groups made up the artwork out of cubes, using them as creative as possible. Then they decided as a group which construction in is the most interesting and they explained their choice. With the help of cubes, they found out what was their building element and that only with the merger they created a new construction with some significance. At this point, they began to think about what the building element of the poet is: words, phrases, verses, or something else. Since at the end of the school year the spring is in full bloom and the nature itself offers us to leave the classroom and visit it, students continue their work on the school playground. Pupils outside observe a blooming tree on which eight boxes are pre-attached. They are then divided into groups of three, each receiving a box containing the question of already acquired literary knowledge. The answer is one of the letters that make up the collective password of all groups. The solution is a caterpillar, which is the starting point for discussing the topic, what happens when one living being destroys another living entity for its existence. Different approaches and new ways of learning from a teacher require more work and greater willingness, but they are rewarding because the learning activity is greater and motivation of students is increased.
