Abstract

The School Development Plan is a statement of the educational philosophy of the school in a certain period of time. The purpose of school development planning is to assure the quality of education by stating concrete goals and activities of the school. The process of school development planning at Savo Kladnik Primary School Sevnica, for the period 2018 – 2023, involved the input from school staff members, pupils and parents. The Savo Kladnik Primary School Development Plan (the Plan) states priorities and goals, which we wish to achieve in a longer period of time. The fundamental aims of the Plan were derived from the school’s values, vision, mission, experiences, achievements, material needs and the results of a survey among staff, pupils and parents. The priorities of the Plan are the following: pastoral care, a well-being of pupils and staff, promoting healthy nutrition and good table manners, professional development, human resources, collaboration with parents, material improvements and maintenance of school facilities, general public events, substainable development (intergenerational collaboration, environmental awareness) and striving for continuous improvement. The Plan states objectives, activities and review instruments for the folowing areas: pastoral care, education, personnel, collaboration among teachers, pupils and parents, creating good working conditions and maintenance of school facilities. The Plan also specifies time frames during which the activities will take place. The Plan serves as a reference document for the whole school community, and is a basis for other school plans (Annual School Plan, School Policies, etc).
