Abstract

One of the main element of the Stabilisation and Association Process (SAP) as the European Union's policy towards the Western Balkan established with the aim of eventual EU membership of Western Balkan countries, is the Stabilisation and Association Agreement setting the bilateral contractual relationships between the parties. Today, EU has signed this agreement with all western Balkan countries, including Kosovo being the latest country signing it. The entry into force of such agreement meant to bring benefits for both signing parties, especially on free movement of goods aspect. The main question is what are the main benefits for the business countries and producers of the country signing such agreement with EU? The aim of this article is to analyse its immediate benefits for the business and producers community in Kosovo after the entry into force of such agreement. The findings shows the immediate results on the removal of customs duties and reduce of price for imported products as benefit for the Kosovo consumers, but on the other side the current producers and potential ones in Kosovo have more opportunity for exporting if complying with EU standards.
