Long-Term Unemployment as a Problem of the Polish Labour Market

Abstract

The positive change noted on the Polish labour market in 2015 was a decrease of the registered unemployment rate below a level of 10%, that is to 9.7%. Such a change may indicate that the Polish labour market develops in a good direction. Looking at the labour market from the perspective of the long-term unemployment rate indicates that it becomes a problem for the Polish labour market. The objective of this study is to analyse the issue of the long-term unemployment in Poland. The data used in the analysis come from GUS (Central Statistical Office), that is the Polish institution gathering statistical data. The results and their analysis will provide answers to questions regarding the condition of the registered unemployment in Poland and the ways it changes.
