The Determination Of Dominant Position Abuse And Its Effects On Economic Entities

The viability of an economy is considerably influenced by the structure and functionality of the market, the level of innovation and technological development, which are influenced by the existence of an efficient competitive environment. Given that the current economic environment is not characterized by perfect competition, in the fierce confrontation for the defense of own interests, in many cases the lawfulness and the correctness of the actions taken by economic entities, are no longer taken into account. In this context, we note that the beneficial effects of the existence and activity of competition on a market can be amplified by competitive actions or can be suppressed by anti-competitive activities or practices. Considering the amplitude of the adverse effects that could be caused by an anticompetitive behavior of an economic entity on the competitive environment, we consider this article to address the concept of dominant position abuse and the economic and financial effects on different categories of relevant market actors.
