Abstract

The events in the international security environment became more unpredictable. Uncertainty became the main characteristic of the contemporary world. The challenges (risks and threats) for the world order and for the security of each country are more difficult (Islamic terrorism, information warfare, hacker’s attacks, climate changes, the danger of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, etc.). That is why the international community and each country have to elaborate intelligent and proper responses. This is possible by improving researches in Security Studies, by adopting a strategic vision, by using a strategic analysis as a support for the decisionmaking process in security issues. The strategic analysts have to be researchers in Security Studies. They have to use innovation and creativity as important sources of elaborating sustainable solutions to challenges, crisis and conflicts. Such a support can be useful for the political authorities of a country or of an alliance in order to adopt efficient responses. In Moldova, it is time to introduce in the list of specializations, elaborated by the Ministry of Education, the Security Studies field. Graduates of these departments could become strategic analysts, who should contribute in all sectors of Security field: economic, political, societal, environmental, informational, military, etc.
