Abstract

This chapter, building on Chapter 3 , focuses on the policy of the processing orders given to private industrial enterprises, and examines the impact of changes in the situation after the Korean War on the CCP’s private enterprise policy in Shanghai against the backdrop of the process of forming a socialist system. The Korean War broke out in June 1950, and China decided to enter the war on October 19 of the same year. This chapter is divided into two parts, with the first mainly analyzing the expansion of processing orders during wartime, from October 1950 up until the second half of 1951 when peace talks commenced, and the second taking up the development of governmental control over private enterprises after late 1951.
