Abstract

The assessment of the maintenance impact, in terms of value added to the company, has been a relevant topic within the maintenance literature and for many years. Authors agree on the fact that maintenance performance should be measured not only in relation to the degree of fulfillment of certain technical standards, but also considering, its relationship and impact in other company departments, as well as its impact in the relationship with customers and on market competitors, and even on the environment. Therefore, we must develop an internal but also an external vision of the maintenance management contribution and then we have to be able to measure maintenance management according to that vision.
