Abstract

In the previous chapter, we traced the hurdles that shape the enterprise AI journey. Startups live in the tension between agility and scale, moving fast enough to prove their promise yet struggling to hold that pace as systems grow. Small and mid-sized businesses stretch ambition against finite means, often advancing further than their infrastructure can bear. Global corporations, despite their power, remain bound by their own weight, such as silos, legacy systems, and the sediment of technical debt. The forms differ, but each returns to a single fault line: the condition of enterprise data. When data is brittle, fragmented, or confined within walls that resist connection, every aspiration meets its limit.
