Abstract

The patriarchal emphasis of the Asian culture frequently overlooks the contributions of single women. Society assumes that their lives are easy and carefree, without the burdened duties of a family, a husband, and children. The contributions made by single women in the world cannot be quantified, and studies focusing on their input and impact have been rare until lately in 2010. This chapter focusses on the challenges faced by single career women in the context of Malaysia. It aims to offer some insights into the experiences of single career women and their contributions.
