Abstract

The New York Bay Area, centered around New York City, is a metropolitan region of global significance, renowned for its preeminence in international finance, driven by its robust financial and producer services industry. The area’s success as a world-class economic hub following World War II can be attributed to its strategic plan and strong capability in fostering sci-tech innovation built upon strong financial resources, as well as its ability to attract top talent and global elites. However, its future development is increasingly challenged by issues such as the declining US dollar credibility and the escalating cost of living. Moving forward, the area needs to focus on economic restructuring and sustainable urban development through policy innovation, industrial upgrading, and growth driven by technological advancements.
