Abstract

This chapter explores the integration of Industry 5.0 and the green economy in promoting sustainable manufacturing practices. Industry 5.0 takes the concepts of Industry 4.0 a step further through more emphasis on AI, robotics, and IoT integration with the human brain to increase efficiency while putting more emphasis on utilizing resources efficiently. By focusing on collaborative technologies, human–robot relations, and the sustainable business models of circular economy for waste minimization and energy conservation, as well as sustainable product development. This chapter has also used Tesla, Siemens, and Unilever examples to demonstrate how Industry 5.0 technologies support sustainable manufacturing and sustainability goals at large. As industries evolve, the synergy between technological advancements and sustainability will be vital for fostering resilient and green production systems. The chapter calls on industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to embrace Industry 5.0 as a pathway to achieving sustainable development in manufacturing.
