Abstract

Cognitive theory is a core theory for explaining the mind-set of entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs’ cognition is related to aspects such as knowledge, motivation, attention, identity, and emotion. From the perspective of cognition, we can better understand how the entrepreneurial mind-set influences the entrepreneurial process and outcomes (Shepherd & Patzelt, 2018). A revie of the development of cognitive theory in the field of economics and management, especially in entrepreneurship, can further enrich and promote the systematic development of research on innovation-driven entrepreneurship.
