Abstract

The complex, legal business environment has underscored the role of forensic accounting practitioners in litigation support. Within the litigation support domain, a forensic accountant can provide legal services both in and out of court. These services include expert witness and counselling services, as well as a wide range of alternative dispute resolution methods. This chapter highlights the role of forensic accounting practitioners in each of these services, as well as the required ethical standards, skills, and knowledge to perform them. The chapter concludes by emphasising the legal and professional impact of forensic accounting work.
