Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der Mensch hat Informationen seit jeher „verwaltet“, doch Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien (IKT) haben sich seit der Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts rasant entwickelt und schreiten immer schneller voran. Zunächst hebt dieses Kurzreferat die wachsende Bedeutung von Information in der modernen Gesellschaft hervor. Unter Einbeziehung des historischen Kontexts technologischer Revolutionen, aber insbesondere auch aktueller demografischer Entwicklungen und der Globalisierung reflektiert das Kurzreferat anschließend über herausragende primäre Ergebnisse des verstärkten Einsatzes von IKT in Organisationen. Abschließend lenkt das Kurzreferat die Aufmerksamkeit auf zukünftige Herausforderungen und fordert ein besseres Verständnis dafür, wie IKT dazu beitragen kann, die notwendige organisatorische Agilität zu ermöglichen.
