Abstract

This chapter brings the book to a close by offering suggestions for the future of ESG practices. Building on discussions taken from previous chapters, it explores potential advancements, challenges, and opportunities for both the developed and emerging countries. It offers strategic recommendations to the global market on the impact of enhancing ESG practices. This chapter also looks to the future of ESG by stressing on the growing responsibilities of companies, regulators, investors, consumers, NGOs, researchers, and educators as drivers of responsible corporate behaviour. It emphasises the revolutionary potential of digital innovation, green finance, circular economy models, and ethical governance for achieving ESG agendas. The book advocates for a standardised reporting system, a rigorous third-party verification, and interdisciplinary research, particularly in underserved areas like ESG-Islamic finance integration which can add value to the ESG dimension. As ESG continues to change the global economic and business landscape, this book provides a strategic framework that promotes inclusive, transparent, and resilient sustainability practices in the coming years of growth.
