Abstract

Price, cost and quantity (demand) frame the clauses of Competition Act, 2002. As red flags of competition they cease to be mere replication of micro-economics. The Commissioners basic tool kit is developed in this chapter illustrating how each of the three factors needs to be analyzed in the framework of competition assessment. In this chapter, the basic tool kit is explained with reference to the product model. The analysis blends with the economic characteristics of markets to comprehend abuses framed in the three sections of the Act.
