Abstract

The rapid emergence and evolution of the digital media industry have made it easy for people to consume information and services. From buying a newspaper to viewing digital shows on various platforms, the possibilities of the media industry are endless. The digitalization of the media industry has been attributed to the increasing demand for instant access to content and the changing expectations of consumers. As a result, the need for technology services that provide convenient and personalized experiences has also been growing. As more consumers become aware of the marketing and public relation spin that is disguised as editorial content, they are more likely to identify brands that are engaging them through storytelling. The world’s population is aging, and this has led to an increase in demand for education, health, and entertainment services for older people. Also, urbanization is expected to contribute to the development of media offerings designed to meet busy workers’ needs. This chapter aims to provide a deeper understanding of how digital entertainment can be reshaped from a perspective of consumerism, demographics, and technological innovations.
