Abstract

Translational research seeks to accelerate the implementation of scientific findings. Translational research encourages and supports interdisciplinary cooperation between laboratory and clinical researchers, addresses community needs, and finds and promotes optimal medical and healthcare practices. It involves sequencing and analysing an organism’s whole genetic code, from genes to transcripts. The proteome is studied in proteomics. When combined with proteomics and bioinformatics data, a comprehensive view of a biological entity is created. Incorrect research may be identified, new insights into disease genetic processes can be gained, the pathogenicity of human genetic variations can be improved, and novel therapeutic targets can be discovered. Translational genomics utilises HGP discoveries to improve complicated disease diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy. The use of data from electronic health records (HER) and individual-level genetic testing to solve ethical, legal, and social issues is described as, translational bioinformatics, one of four sub-categories of bioinformatics research.
