Abstract

Finance is an effective intervention for economic growth, particularly in a resource-constrained nation like Bangladesh. Access to capital is crucial for fostering inclusive economic growth and eradicating poverty in a nation. This article aims to highlight some of the key restrictions that exist in Bangladesh’s banking industry and prevent the country from achieving financial integration. The case of Bangladeshi RMG labourers is discussed in this study. The study applied a qualitative approach using an assessment of existing studies, focus group discussion and key informants interviews on identifying the existing number of challenges that are impeding the process of financial inclusion of RMG workers in Bangladesh, which is being led by the banking sector and potential solutions to recover those challenges. The collation is supported by a donor-funded venture called Swisscontact South Asia Regional Office (SARO). The findings of the study provide advice for resolving the difficulties that have been discovered in the Banking sector of Bangladesh.
