Abstract

Zusammenfassung In diesem Kapitel wird dargelegt, dass die exportorientierte Strategie als einer der Hauptfaktoren für die enormen wirtschaftlichen Erfolge Chinas in den letzten Jahrzehnten angesehen wird und dass Industrieparks/wirtschaftliche Entwicklungszonen (EDZ) zu den Hauptakteuren bei der Umsetzung dieser Strategie geworden sind. Unter den verschiedenen Industrieparks hat sich der Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) inzwischen zu einem führenden und vorbildlichen Industriepark/EDZ in China entwickelt. Um die treibenden Kräfte seiner hervorragenden Wirtschaftsleistung zu erforschen, wird in diesem Kapitel aufgezeigt, dass es wichtig ist, die Rolle der einzigartigen institutionellen Reglements und Ausgestaltungen des SIP (als formale Institution, die die Qualität der Regierung/Governance widerspiegelt) bei der Gestaltung der wirtschaftlichen Aktivitäten und der Entwicklung zu untersuchen, insbesondere unter den Gesichtspunkten Innovation, Unternehmergeist und Nachhaltigkeit. Dieses Kapitel erläutert auch die Struktur des Buches.
