Abstract

Effort was made in the earlier chapters of this book in highlighting the growth of the manufacturing sector under alternative policy regimes. Firm-level efficiency and profitability has been delved into thoroughly to understand how these are conditioned upon the microeconomic and macroeconomic factors. Examination of the dynamic relationship between important macroeconomic factors and the manufacturing sector-specific stock indices was a special interest of the whole exercise. This chapter is dedicated towards summarizing the outcome of study in a holistic manner. Policy implications of such results are highlighted in detail along with the scope of future research towards the end of the chapter.
