Abstract

In multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) field, fuzzy sets provide differing representation manners in modeling the expert's preferences. Fermatean fuzzy set (FFS) is a special concept of q-rung orthopair fuzzy set when we set q = 3. Thus, FFS has an extensive domain from a geometric perspective. In the study, a well-known MADM tool, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), is extended into FFS environment with the aim of providing more freedom to the experts in stating their thoughts and expertise. The applicability of the proposition is demonstrated in a real supplier selection problem in Industry 4.0 transition. In today's environment, supplier selection is of strategic importance to companies. Further advances in computer, communication, and automation technologies transformed the corporate landscape. The need for integration of suppliers and customers adds further challenge to the supplier selection. This paper aims to explore the supplier selection and develop a set of criteria in tune with Industry 4.0.
