Abstract

As a new age of tourism, virtual tourism caters to the needs of travelers in the modern era and has become a focused theme. Virtual Reality (VR) in tourism events have become highly common in recent years, and efforts are being made to combine the two to provide a real-time experience for tourists. The key emphasis was placed on a new path in the digital development of tourism events, namely the adoption of virtual reality technologies. The purpose of this research is to shed light on the potential benefits of incorporating VR into tourism events to improve their image. And there are two main objectives: first, to evaluate the variables that influence how tourists from different cultural backgrounds select tourism events; and second, to look at the role of virtual contact in the promotion of tourism events. The influence of virtual input on the visit is examined at specific stages in this paper: before the visit in the decision-making process; and during the visit in the experience evaluation. The study indicates that the antecedents of flow and flow behaviors in 3D virtual tourism events were directly related to tourists’ plans to take a real trip. Tourists can build consideration and awareness of their future tourism event preferences by participating in a VR tourism event and witnessing enhanced flow. More rigorous analysis is needed to examine the simulated environment and its impact on the decision-making process of tourists. Technology assumes a vital part in making the travel industry thrive. Primary motive of the chapter is to understand the concept of virtual reality in tourism and the benefits by adopting virtual reality platforms in tourism. The adverse consequences of introducing VR into the tourism industry are established. This research contributes to a better understanding of how to build informative and engaging tourism events in 3D virtual worlds to draw future online and real-world tourists.
