Abstract

In society, an event, fair, or festival is generally a public celebration, organized by a community, addressing some specific feature. The rising interest of tourists in these celebrations had made them exclusive tourist attractions and destination image-makers. According to various studies, in the world of today, tourists have a combined interest in exploring different events and also experiencing better comfort with improved tourism arrangements. And it is a justified fact, more than in the past the quest of adaptation of any influential factor in the tourism industry is the use of technology for its obligatory beneficial effects. Now a day attending different kinds of tourism events, fairs and festivals has become a popular way of escaping the stress and monotony of modern complex life. At the same time, present-day festival-goers appreciate smart tourism technology experiences for better consummation, more appealing experiences, and being motivated with revisit tendency. Many studies have already shown that embracing improved technological application within the tourism context has simplified the entire process both from the organizer and visitor perspective. The focus of this chapter is to have an extended discussion on this technological embrace in the event, fair and festival tourism sector of Bangladesh and its immersive influence on its evolvement in a greater way.
