Abstract

This chapter introduces to the audience data governance and other data management functions in a concise fashion as these have been discussed in great detail in the second book of the series- Data Governance and Data Management. This chapter also presents the evolution of the data management discipline, the business drivers for data governance, data governance benefits and the key factors necessary for success of a DG program very briefly.
