Abstract

Successful transformations change organizations to deliver products and services in better ways. They change existing services, develop new services, and provide better ways to use technology to deliver such services. The terms often used is that a good transformation uses technology to simplify delivery of services that deliver value to people. This chapter describes values that people may hold. It focuses on what people value as important and how to create new value. Finding knowledge about people’s values is where we ask “what and why questions” to gather necessary information. This chapter also introduces the first steps of gathering information about people’s concerns about what is happening now and what they think should be done.
