Abstract

The notion of a submersion is dual to the notion of an immersion. More precisely, a submersion $$\pi :M\rightarrow B$$ π : M → B is a smooth map between differentiable manifolds whose differential $$\pi _{*}$$ π ∗ is everywhere surjective. The notion of submersion is a fundamental concept in differential topology.
