Abstract

Statistics is a fusion of mathematics and science. It has its utility in all branches of science, economics, sociology, and sports. Statistical methods and procedures are very useful for evaluation of research work in various fields. Adequate knowledge of statistical methods is a must for an investigator/researcher in any field. Efficiency or impact of research or a systematic query in any field could be evaluated only with appropriate statistical methods. In fact, erstwhile kings could be called the founders of statistical science as they used such methods to collect information regarding health and wealth status of population to plan development of the states. Students of the chance games also contributed the concept of probability in statistical sampling. Now the concept of probability intertwined in various fields like social science, statistics, economics, business management, industry, medicine, and engineering.
