Abstract

In this paper, the contact surface of moving and fixed contactors of 3 different arc extinction unit used for DC 100A magnetic contactor has been computed with Holm’s equation. Also, electromagnetic blowout force acting on the arc and arc velocity are analyzed using 3D FEM and the breaking time for power source DC current 100A, voltage 100V has been measured and compared computing value with measuring value.
