Abstract

Samenvatting Poliklinieken vormen een steeds belangrijker onderdeel van het ziekenhuis en hebben veel invloed op het capaciteitsgebruik van het hele ziekenhuis. Hoe te beginnen met het toepassen van capaciteitsmanagement op de polikliniek? Het is moeilijk om processen en structuren binnen een ziekenhuis te veranderen en het eindigt vaak met een niet duurzaam resultaat. In dit hoofdstuk bespreken we een stappenplan, gebaseerd op ervaring en literatuur, dat de zorgmanager of zorgprofessional op de polikliniek helpt om succesvol capaciteitsmanagement te introduceren, implementeren en beheersen. In deze bijdrage zullen we de volgende stappen uitdiepen: doelstelling, basisanalyse, implementatie en monitoring. De stap capaciteitsplan komt aan bod in H. 21.
