Abstract

Samenvatting In dit hoofdstuk wordt het managen van capaciteit in de zorginstelling geïntroduceerd, ook in relatie tot zorglogistiek. De tekst biedt een raamwerk voor het aanpakken van vraagstukken die bij capaciteitsmanagement spelen. Daarbij wordt het belang beschreven van coherente relaties tussen capaciteitsmanagement en andere beleidsgebieden binnen de zorginstelling. Capaciteitsmanagement betreft het geheel van beslissingsprocessen om de juiste capaciteit in de juiste hoeveelheid op de juiste plaats op de juiste tijd voor het juiste doel in te zetten. Om dit te bereiken dient er een goed inzicht te zijn in de structuur van besluitvormingsprocessen, de belangen en de momenten waarop besloten wordt. Daarbij wordt onderscheid gemaakt tussen strategische, tactische, operationele en realtimebesluitvorming. Goed capaciteitsmanagement is zowel een ‘technische’ als een ‘gedragsmatige’ uitdaging. Beide komen aan bod.
